Dr. Martin Hadis

Martín Hadis holds a Ph.D. in Humanities from UPF-Barcelona, a Master’s degree in Media Technology from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Media Lab, and a Master’s degree in Applied Anthropology from the University of North Texas (UNT). He also did graduate work in medieval Germanic literatures and comparative religions at Harvard University. He completed his undergraduate studies in information systems at CAECE University in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

His literary and philological research focuses on the works of Borges, Tolkien, and Oesterheld. He also specializes in fantasy literature and science fiction.

His interest in linguistics has led him to study numerous languages, including German, Japanese, Mandarin Chinese, Finnish, French, Latin, Welsh, Old English, and Old Norse.

He is the author of eight books and has published numerous articles in both national and international media. He also served as a Culture and Technology columnist for Radio Mitre and Radio Milenium.

He has participated in research projects in Boston, Heidelberg, and Helsinki. He has taught at the Colegio Libre of the Universidad Torcuato Di Tella, as well as at the Universidad de Belgrano and Universidad CAECE. He has taught courses and seminars at the Borges Cultural Center and at the National Library of Argentina. In 2023, he delivered the opening lecture for Harvard University’s Colloquium on Medieval Studies.
